2011/12 Executive Committee

At our AGM/Shinnenkai in January we voted in a brand new JETAA Toronto Executive for 2011/2012.  All positions will officially start in April, and we are currently working hard on making it a smooth transition.

Several of the past year’s Executive members have had some exciting life changes this past year, from marriage to babies to moves overseas, so we have a lot of new faces this year in addition to a few returning veterans.

JETAA Toronto would like to acknowledge all of the effort and energy that the 2010/11 Executive put into the past year. It’s only through your hard work that we have been able to accomplish what we have.

2011 JETAA Canada Representative Elections

The call for platforms for the JET Alumni Association (JETAA) Canada’s Country Representative has begun and we’re looking for interested candidates!  The Canada Representative is integral to unifying Canada’s various chapters and representing our country on the JETAA-International level.  A detailed job description has been attached.

The successful candidate will submit a platform that states the following:

  • Experience with JETAA
  • Vision for future of JETAA chapters in Canada
  • Action plan for year ahead and ideas to strengthen JETAA Canada

The appointed Returning Officer will conduct the elections, including the collection of platforms, distribution of platforms for voting, counting and collecting the votes, and announcing the winner.

Greetings JETAA Toronto!

As your Canada Representative, I would like to share news from the recent JETAA International meeting that took place in Edinburgh, Scotland from Oct 1-3, 2010. Fifteen of 18 countries participated this year. I had the privilege and opportunity to share about the growth and activities of all seven chapters across Canada, as well as the issues and concerns affecting JET alumni from far and wide (as shared to me by your local chapters).

Positions Available for 2011 Executive

The JET Alumni Association of Toronto is one of the largest and most active chapters in Canada and the world. Coming up in January, we will be holding our Annual General Meeting, at which the year’s activities and events are reviewed and the 2011 executive will be chosen.
