JETAA Fighting Carps Win Gold!

The rain stayed away on Sunday, September 9 as JETAA Toronto aimed to recreate the team spirit that encompasses Sports Day in Japan. Against the backdrop of Marilyn Bell Park’s dragon boat event, JET alumni got together to test their skill, speed and agility and to cheer on the JETAA Fighting Carps Dragon Boat team.

True patience was tested as participants tried to untangle themselves from the human knot. Some got a little physical to see who would be the last person standing during push sumo. Some minor injuries were sustained during a few rounds of musical balls. But it was the final obstacle race that tested players’ strength, balance and hand-eye coordination.

Prizes were delicious bags of candy: gold chocolate coins for 1st place, silver Hershey’s kisses for 2nd and bronze Worther’s caramels for third. The Grand Prize was a bag of Matcha (green tea) Kit-Kats!

As for the Fighting Carps, they performed magnificently, winning TWO gold medals! A heartfelt congratulations to them once again for their achievements.
