Job Posting: Assistant in Economic and Political Sections

The Consulate-General of Japan is currently recruiting for a local staff member who will be assisting in the economic and political sections.

1. Overview of the position:
To support the activities the Consulate-General in the fields of mainly economics as well as politics. (Research information, produce documents, etc.)

2. Qualification:
1. Has excellent knowledge of Canadian and world economies, as well as of political issues
2. Can communicate well in English both orally and in writing
3. Preference will be given to those having interest in and knowledge of Japanese economics, and understanding of the Japanese language
4. Is proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other commonly used software
5. Holds Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status

3. Contract Period:
From Mid-October 2018 (tentative) to Dec. 31, 2019. (Includes three-month probationary period. Contract can be extended depending on the quality of work.)

4. Regular working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, except holidays. This includes a one-hour lunch break.
