Another successful session of JETAA Japanese lessons was held this fall!  The Japanese class, which is free for JETAA, was sold out this year with 14 eager students. We met in a classroom in the Bloor-Yonge library every Monday evening, and under the expert tutelage of Matsumoto-sensei, we kotsukotsu studied onomatopoeia (example: geragera is to laugh loudly and unrestrainedly).

JETAA Japanese Lessons – Fall 2016 Edition

JETAA Toronto is excited to announce this year’s edition of Japanese lessons! Come one, come all!

They will be taught once again by the excellent Matsumoto-Sensei and the focus will be on conversational Japanese.

This year we are also adding a workshop element to the latter half of some of the classes to learn how to make Japanese Etegami (Illustrated postcard) and Nengajo (Japanese New year’s cards).

Report: Japanese Lessons

The recent session of JETAA Toronto’s Japanese lessons have come to a close. Once again taught by the superb Matsumoto Tomoko Sensei, these lessons were structured with a focus on conversational Japanese. They were most enjoyable and lively with many laughable moments. There were eight lessons in total, mainly held at the Toronto Reference Library on Monday nights 6:15-7:45pm. This year there were seven participants. The course is offered annually in the fall to all JET Programme alumni and is free of charge. (more…)

Funded Japanese Lessons With JETAA

We are pleased to offer JLPT-focus Japanese classes to JETAA Toronto alumni! Lessons will be half conversational, half structured lesson.

Dates: Mondays, October 15, 22, 29 ; November 5, 12, 19,  26. (total number of classes: 7)

Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Location: Toronto Reference Library. 789 Yonge St. (1 block north of Yonge & Bloor) Meeting Room B1
